Design Technology
Unlike traditional neon, Neo-Link uses
electro-magnetic fields and does not require
electrodes. Design functions such as
blinking and flowing are available. Flowing
is available from end-to-end, centre to ends
and from ends to centre. While traditional
Neon is restricted to a minimum tube
diameter of 8mm, Neo-link tubes can be built
with a diameter as small as 1.8mm.
Economical
Neo-Link consumes just 5 watts per meter of
neon tube (approx. 10 watts for a 20 letter
sign). This is less than 30% of traditional
neon and represents a cost saving of more
than 70%. The expected life of each letter
is 100,000 hours (more than 10 years) and,
to date, we have achieved results of more
than 20,000 hours of continuous use.
Environmentally Friendly
Neo-Link uses Tungsten glass and does not
contain harmful lead. Tungsten has a much
lower coefficient of linear thermal
expansion than lead glass tubes (4.5 rather
than 29) meaning that the glass is much less
likely to wear out than traditional neon.
Moreover, Neo-link uses just 30% of the
power required by traditional neon.
Safer
All Neo-Link letters are encased in sturdy,
fire-resistant plastic housing to eliminate
danger from broken glass. Most importantly,
Neo-link products can only reach a maximum
temperature of 98.6 degrees Fahrenheit (37
celsius) meaning that they are perfectly
safe to touch.
